G. I. Lykasov "Isospin symmetry in pp and AA collisions"

The hypothesis of isospin symmetry breaking in pp and AA collisions during K-meson production was discussed, which assumes the equality of the cross sections of charged and neutral kaons.

The ratio of the charged kaon section to neutral ones, calculated in the similarity model taking into account the gluon distributions at small QCD scales and using calculations within the PYTHIA generator, is shown to exceed the unity at initial energies up to 20 GeV even with preservation of isospin symmetry. This ratio decreases down to the unity with the increase of the initial energy up to 1 TeV. Due to the limitation of experimental data and their insufficient statistical significance it is difficult to make a definite conclusion on possible violation of isospin symmetry during the production of kaons in AA collisions.
