Congratulations to Elena Kurakina on successful defence of the candidate dissertation!

Last week, on 15 October 2026, Elena Kurakina, engineer of the DLNP Department of Nuclear Spectroscopy and Radiochemistry, successfully defended her dissertation at the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology. The topic of her work was “Radiation and chemical aspects of the stability of trivalent metal-based radiopharmaceutical precursors”.

Elena Kurakina defended her dissertation for the degree of candidate of scientists (chemistry) in specialty 2.6.8: Technology of Rare, Dispersed, and Radioactive Elements. Scientific supervisor is Eldar Magomedbekov (Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology) and scientific consultant is Dmitry Filosofov (DLNP JINR), doctor of sciences (physics and mathematics).

The aim of the dissertation is to develop the methods for obtaining radionuclides  ${}^{111}In, {}^{44}Sc$ и ${}^{135}La$ from the irradiated target and evaluate the influence of post-ffects in the trivalent metal-based radiopharmaceutical precursors.

We sincerely congratulate Elena on the successful defence of her candidate dissertation! We wish her further scientific achievements and creative success!
