A set of ionization chambers for the oncoophthalmological complex of the “OKO” project
A complex of equipment for proton therapy of oncoophthalmological targets (the
OKO project) has been created at the Kurchatov Institute, Gatchina, on the basis of the high-current cyclotron C-80. Taking into account the small size of the irradiated targets, the high radiosensitivity of their localization organ and the high radiation dose rate, increased requirements are placed on the stability of the proton beam parameters during irradiation.
The article presents the results of the development, manufacture and testing of a complex of equipment based on ionization chambers for monitoring beam characteristics during proton therapy of ophthalmic targets.
The equipment developed is a ready-made solution on the basis of which it is possible to create more complex systems for proton beam facilities with strict requirements to dosimetry and accuracy of determination of beam location in space.
