Displacement of collider beam focuses caused by various seismic sources was discussed.A method is proposed for calculating the beam focus displacement due to the passing seismic waves with allowance for the length of the area of beam preparation for collisions, frequency of the seismic wave, and its velocity dependence on the frequency.
It is shown that the displacement of the focuses can be quite noticeable for the LHC with the area of the particle beam preparation for collisions 40 m long in the frequency range over 1 Hz and for CLIC (stage 1) with this area 1.9 km long in the microseismic peak frequency range of[0.1 Hz; 0.5 Hz].
The data indicate the necessity to monitor seismic activity by a network of Precision Laser Inclinometers.
