Congratulations to Gennady Ivanovich Lykasov on his 80th birthday!

Today, on 20 October 2025, the researcher of the DLNP Department of Multiple Hadron Processes, doctor of sciences (physics and mathematics) professor Gennady Ivanovich Lykasov.

Gennady Ivanovich graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Saratov State University (Department of Theoretical Physics). The scientific supervisor of his thesis was L. I. Lapidus. After defending candidate dissertation in February 1974, G. I. Lykasov got a position at the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems. In 2008, G. I. Lykasov was awarded the academic title of professor.

Gennady Ivanovich is a theoretical physicist. The sphere of his scientific interests is strong and electromagnetic particle interactions. For the last five years he provided theoretical support for the experiments in CERN within the ATLAS programme, including searching for manifestation of contribution of new quark components in the proton structure.

Gennady Ivanovich Lykasov cooperated with the experimental groups of G. A. Leksin (ITEP), V. V. Glagolev (VBLHEP JINR), and A. I. Malakhov (VBLHEP JINR), worked with Yu. A. Budagov, B. M. Golovin, and Yu. M. Kazarinov (DLNP JINR). Since 1990 he also became involved in neutrino interaction studying.
