Congratulations to Sergey Nikolaevich Dolya and Yuri Vasilievich Nikitenko on Receiving a Patent for Invention!
The invention refers to equipment for producing cold and ultracold neutrons via controlling particle beams using reflections off a moving layered structure. Neutron reflectors are made as a layered structure which is a system of periodic structures following one another with a spatial period reducing in the direction from the surface of the structure to its depth. Coaxial hemispherical neutron reflectors are connected by hinges to brackets placed on the remote arms of the wheel and can rotate around their axis. In another design version, neutron reflectors have a flat reflecting surface. The technical outcome is the increase of the cold and ultracold neutron flux and extension of the intervals of initial and final velocity (energy) of neutrons.
The invention refers to the control of particle beams using reflection off the moving mirror and can be applied to production of cold and ultracold neutrons.
Subject of invention
1. The device to produce cold and ultracold neutrons from the neutron beam source, comprising neutron reflectors installed on the remote arms of the wheel capable of rotating about its axis, differing in that neutron reflectors are made as a layered structure which is a system of periodic structures following one another with a spatial period reducing in the direction from the surface of the structure to its depth.
2. The device to produce cold and ultracold neutrons from the neutron beam source according to Paragraph 1 differing in that neutron reflectors are connected by hinges to brackets placed on the remote arms of the wheel with a possibility of rotating around their axis.
3. The device to produce cold and ultracold neutrons according to Paragraph 1 or 2 differing in that neutron reflectors have a flat reflecting surface.
