Cooperation between Researchers from the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems and Scientists from Serbia Goes On
On Tuesday, 26 April 2022, Nikolay Anfimov, the Head of the Sector of Research Methodology of the DLNP Experimental Department of Particle Physics, gave a lecture for COHERENCE, a Serbian interdisciplinary research centre. COHERENCE is aimed at joining efforts of scientific groups and institutions from different fields of science (physics, chemistry, photonics, biomedicine, engineering) involved in applied light research.
Nikolay was invited by Elena Radovanovic, a professor of the Faculty of Physical Electronics of the University of Belgrade. In December 2012, Elena visited the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems and got to know the main DLNP research directions and infrastructure. Nikolay talked about the DLNP Neutrino Programme and described various projects, such as the Baikal Neutrino Observatory, the DANSS experiment on reactor neutrinos, the JUNO (Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory, China) and the TAO (Taishan Antineutrino Observatory, China) neutrino experiments.
Lecture materials were provided by the DLNP researchers D. V. Naumov. L. D. Kolupaeva, and M. V. Shirchenko.
COHERENCE embraces the following Serbian scientific institutions:
- the Vinča National Institute of Nuclear Sciences,
- School of Electrical Engineering of the University of Belgrade,
- Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Niš,
- Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Science of the University of Kragujevac.
