Preparation for the JUNO Experiment Reaches Its Final Stage

The main goal of the international JUNO experiment, in which DLNP scientists and engineers are actively involved, is to determine the neutrino mass hierarchy. This is currently one of the crucial problems in neutrino physics. The preparation for the JUNO experiment is in its final stage.

JUNOAlmost all elements of the future facility—electronics, equipment and safety system controllers—followed a long way from the idea to realization with compulsory multi-stage reviewing, manufacturing and quality control. At present, underground halls are still under construction. By the middle of the next year, the pool for the central JUNO detector will be installed, which is a sphere with a diameter of about 40 m.
