Baikal Summer School. Day 3
The lecture day began with the first part of "Simulation Software" by Andrey Sheshukov (DLNP JINR) and continued with discussions on the prospects of neutrino physics with Liangjian Wen (IHEP) and dark matter with Junting Huang (SJTU). After lunch, Andrey Sheshukov delivered the second part of the lecture on simulation.
Today the following students presented their reports:
- David Nkundumukiza (ISU) “A prototype of the water cherenkov detector in the TAIGA-100 project"
- Darya Busel (NRNU MEPhI) “Sesitivity of the Baikal-GVD detector to diffuse astrophysical neutrino flux in track-like event analysis"
- Vladislav Filippov (BLTP JINR) “Quantum corrections to the effective potential in SO(N) symmetric scalar field theories in curved spacetime”
- Alexandra Panfiorova (MSU) “Methods and some results of the search for submicrosecond optical transients with imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes TAIGA-IACT”
- Anna Dembitskaia (NRNU MEPhI) “Energy release of annihilating antimatter domains”
The evening concluded with a presentation on the activities of the Theoretical Physics and Mathematics Advancement Foundation “BASIS” (speaker Oksana Boytsova), an overview of the "Neutrino Physics and Particle Astrophysics" training program by Teach-in (speakers Dmitry Naumov and Nadezhda Kuznetsova), and an introduction to the new "Megascience" master's track at ITMO University in St. Petersburg (presented by Dmitry Karlovets).
