Today the first lectures, student presentations, questions, and discussions took place. Dmitry Naumov (DLNP, JINR) opened the school with the first part of a lecture titled "Introduction to Particle Physics". Zhi-zhong Xing (IHEP, China) then took the floor with a lecture on "Origin of neutrino mass and mixing (Part I)", followed by Dmitry Gorbunov (INR RAS), who delivered two consecutive lectures on cosmology.
In the afternoon, following the lectures, the school participants gave presentations on their research work:
• Vladimir Astakhov “Analysis of the ground temperature as part of the search for an optimal site for the TAIGA-100 Astrophysical Complex”
• Daniil Akhmedyanov "Calibration of water-based Cherenkov detector"
• Dmitry Rubtsov “Study of Luminescent Characteristics of Epischura baikalensis”
• Shasha Liu “PMT performance with high-voltage boosting base of TRIDENT”
• Simon Sotirov “Neutrinos from the Milky Way. Case of nearby pevatron”
The students divided into groups and, together with their mentors, began working on the projects that they will present at the end of the school.
