International School on Astroparticle Physics (ISAPP), Ferrara (Italy), 2-12 July, 2018

The Using Particle Physics to Understand and Image the Earth is an initiative supported by the International School on Astroparticle Physics (ISAPP), a network including 36 institutions and doctorate schools having the mission of encouraging students exchanges and developing a joint education through the organization of Summer Schools and Summer Institutes in theoretical and experimental Astroparticle Physics.

It will be held at the University Institute for Higher Studies, IUSS - Ferrara 1391 in Ferrara (Italy) in the period 2  - 12 July 2018 and it represents the natural prosecution of the first edition of Summer Instiute "Using Particle Physics to Understand and Image the Earth" that took place last year at the Gran Sasso Science Institute in L'Aquila. With the same spirit, the present school has the objective of bringing together students and faculty interested in understanding production and detection of subatomic particles and short-lived nuclides and their application in geoscience, geostatistics, geochronology, underground physics and environmental science.

The Summer Institute is open to 26 advanced graduate students and recent post-docs who are interested in sharing their experiences and learning from a diverse group of lecturers with the idea of promoting a greater understanding of science.

Lectures and hands on sessions will take place in a relaxed environment, ideal for building collaborations and bringing together scientists from diverse backgrounds. The two weeks setting in the modern, yet medieval city of Ferrara, enjoying culture and good food is the perfect playground  for the development of collegiality and cooperation.

At the end of the Summer Institute an official certificate of participation will be consigned.

The deadline for the registration is the 22nd April 2018.
