Review of the DLNP Seminar on March 16, 2020 by Yu.A. Shitov and Ye.A. Yakushev “Novel Neutrino Reactor Experiments”

Neutrinos are still distinct sources of scientific discoveries in nuclear physics, particle physics and cosmology. The history of neutrino physics is closely interwoven with reactors. Considering that neutrinos participate only in weak interactions, a strong reactor neutrino flux is often the only possibility of studying the properties of this particle.

At the seminar, the projects of novel neutrino experiments with the JINR participation were introduced, which are aimed at the measurement of the coherent elastic scattering of reactor antineutrinos off nuclei (CENNS) by using two different technologies, cryogenic bolometers Ricochet and charge-coupled devices. The results of basic background measurements in possible locations of these experiments near reactors were discussed.
