Laureates of the 2026 JINR Prize announced
The second prize in the nomination “experimental research results” was awarded to the group of scientists – I. Belolaptikov, V. Dik, T. Elzhov, D. Naumov, A. Sirenko, M. Sorokovikov, B. Shaybonov, and Yu. Yablokova – for their work “Probing the Galactic neutrino flux at neutrino energies above 200 TeV with the Baikal gigaton volume detector”.
The second prize in the same nomination was awarded to the group of scientists – L. Kolupaeva, A. Kalitkina, N. Anfimov, A. Antoshkin, N. Balashov (MLIT), I. Kakorin (BLTP), V. Matveev, A. Olshevsky, O. Samoylov, and A. Sheshukov – for their work “Joint neutrino oscillation analysis from the T2K and NOvA experiments”.
The second prize in the nomination “Applied research and technology results” was awarded to the group of scientists – V. Belov, A. Bystryakov, I. Zhitnikov, S. Kazarсev, A. Kuznetsov, D. Medvedev, D. Ponomarev, E. Shevchik, and M. Shirchenko – for their work “Long term remote reactor power and fuel composition monitoring using antineutrinos”.

The JINR Prize is awarded for outstanding experimental, methodological, and applied research within the topics of the institute that are completed in the current year and are at the level of modern science. The Jury is annually established by the JINR Directorate for considering the works submitted. The panel of judges consists of the representatives of the JINR Directorate and leading scientists. The decision on awarding the prizes comes into force after its approval by the JINR Scientific Council at the winter session.
