Congratulations to Maksim Sorokovikov on successful defence of the candidate dissertation!

Today, on 19 December 2024, Maksim Nikolaevich Sorokovikov has successfully defended his dissertation at the meeting of the Dissertation Council of DLNP JINR. The topic of his work was “Production of charmed particles in hadron-nucleus interactions at high energies in the phenomenological model of quark-gluon strings and calculation of atmospheric muon and neutrino fluxes”.

Maksim Sorokovikov defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of science (physics and mathematics) in specialty 1.3.15 —  physics of atomic nuclei and elementary particles, high energy physics.

The dissertation research was performed at the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

Scientific supervisor: Edgar Valeryevich Bugaev, Doctor of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), Institute for Nuclear Research of RAS, leading researcher

Official opponents: Nikolai Nikolaevich Kalmykov, Doctor of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), Lomonosov Moscow State University, Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics, leading researcher

Vadim Aleksandrovich Naumov, Candidate of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), head of the sector

The aim of the paper is to study energy spectra and zenith angular distributions of direct atmospheric muon neutrinos and muons at the sea level.

We sincerely congratulate Maksim Nikolaevich on successful defence of the candidate dissertation and wish him further scientific and creative achievements!
