Kazakhstan
As one of the Soviet republics, Kazakhstan became part of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research on the day the organization was created, 26 March 1956. Since 1992, Kazakhstan has been a JINR Member State as a sovereign republic. Traditionally, JINR cooperates with the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan (INP) and the Institute of Physics and Technology (IPT) of Kazakhstan. Session of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries of Governments of Member States took place in Almaty (Kazakhstan) from 10 to 11 November 2023. Scientists and engineers from Kazakhstan participate in almost all main JINR projects including the Baikal-GVD collaboration that builds Baikal Neutrino Telescope with active participation of DLNP JINR.
