Joint Institute for Nuclear Research

Azerbaijan

As one of the Soviet republics, Azerbaijan became part of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research on the day the organization was created, 26 March 1956. Since 1992, Azerbaijan has been a JINR Member State as a sovereign republic. Thus relations with scientific centres of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani scientists have been maintained and developed throughout the history of JINR.

Several bilateral memorandums have been signed between JINR and Baku State University over the past few years. Today scientific cooperation between Azerbaijani physicists and JINR scientists is strengthening and expanding. In December 2023, Director of DLNP JINR Evgeny Aleksandrovich Yakushev took part in the conference “Modern trends in physics – 2023”, organized by Baku State University. During his visit to Baku, Evgeny Yakushev held a series of meetings and spoke at a scientific seminar, where he introduced the listeners to the activities of the Institute and the scientific research of DLNP.
