Review of the DLNP Seminar on February 26, 2020 by Andrey Gridin “Studies of the J/ψ Pair Production and the Possibility of Verifying the Hypothesis of the Intrinsic Pion Charm”
The J/ψJ/ψ pair production is a rare and promising process appropriate for studying the single-parton and double-parton scattering (SPS and DPS). The J/ψJ/ψ pairs can also be produced by the hadron intrinsic charm mechanism which has been used for about 40 years to interpret experimental data.
The COMPASS experiment located at CERN uses the π−π 190 GeV beam in the Drell-Yan configuration. In the last two years, the experiment has obtained a large amount of the J/ψJ/ψ statistics. At the seminar, the J/ψJ/ψ pair production mechanisms were discussed and the results of the J/ψJ/ψ pair production analysis from the COMPASS and NA3 collaborations were compared.
