DLNP, along with the whole world, is going through the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many employees are working remotely, the shift work was optimized to reduce personal contacts. Comparing to the usual “every-day” reality, there are much fewer people on the DLNP site and deep silence in the hallways of the Laboratory buildings.⠀
"μSR-Study of a Ferrofluid with the 3% Concentration of \(CoFe_2O_4\) Nanoparticles" by Viktor Duginov
- Details
- Category: Seminars
A ferrofluid based on magnetic nanoparticles of CoFe2O4 molecules dispersed in H2O with the nanoparticle concentration of 3% is studied using the μSR method. The structure and magnetization of the ferrofluid depends on its viscosity. At room temperature (290 K) and the external magnetic field of 527 Gs the observed additional magnetization is ~20 Gs.
"Gamma Quantum Yield from Nuclear Fusion Reactions in Muonic Molecules \(pt\mu\) and \(pd\mu\)" by Dmitry Demin
- Details
- Category: Seminars
The gamma-quantum yield from nuclear fusion reactions resulting from different spin states of the muonic molecules ??? and ??? has been measured. The muon sticking coefficient in the channel of the pt-fusion with a single gamma-quantum yield is experimentally determined. The fusion reaction channels with the yield of the double gamma-quanta ??? → 4He? + ? + ?, ??? → 3He? + ? + ? are observed for the first time.
