An interview with Igor Donatovich Alexandrov, Doctor of Biology, the chief DLNP researcher, Head of the Group of Molecular and Radiation Genetics of the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems. Igor Donatovich is a doctor by profession. He worked as a senior researcher at the Research Institute of Medical Radiology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR in Obninsk under the guidance of N. V. Timofeev-Resovsky.

In 1989, he started his career at the DLNP Department of Biophysics at the invitation of Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Korogodin, the head of the Department, a renowned biologist. Igor Donatovich brought from Obninsk to Dubna his unique Drosophila Melanogaster collection. He studies genetic risks of ionizing radiation in relation to the frequency of inherited DNA changes of structural genes using laboratory lines of D. Melanogaster. He also performs genomic research.
