The results of the development of a Compact Precision Laser Inclinometer are presented. The new position-sensitive photometric method of Dividing Plates allowed designing the device with overall dimensions of 20 × 20 × 20 cm and 10 kg in weight. Experimental data were obtained detecting angular oscillations of the Earth's surface on the JINR site.

The maximum sensitivity in the frequency range of 4·10-3-10 Hz was 6·10-11 rad/Hz1/2. MPLI can be used in a modern physics experiment: to stabilize large-scale physical facilities of the Virgo Interference Gravitational Antenna and the Large Hadron Collider from microseismic angular oscillations of the Earth's surface, as well as to predict earthquakes.
